Procurement Work Done with Care and Clarity
Yaraka was founded to help Malaysian organisations make better sense of how they source and manage suppliers — without complexity for its own sake.
Back to HomeOur Story
Built Around a Simple Observation
Yaraka began when its founders noticed a recurring pattern in Malaysian small and mid-sized businesses: procurement decisions were being made on instinct rather than structure. Not because the teams lacked capability, but because no one had helped them build a sensible process.
The business was set up in Kuala Lumpur with a straightforward aim — to work alongside organisations as they sort out their supplier relationships, document how decisions are made, and put comparison methods in place that hold up over time. The work is deliberate and collaborative, not advisory at arm's length.
Today, Yaraka supports organisations at different stages: some are just beginning to formalise their sourcing, others have a process that needs refining. The scope of each engagement reflects what is actually needed rather than a standard package.
Our Mission
To help Malaysian organisations understand and improve how they select and work with suppliers, using clear methods and practical tools that their teams can continue to use after we leave.
Our Values
- Straightforward over clever — plain language and honest observations
- Fit-for-purpose over comprehensive — engagements scoped to actual needs
- Collaborative over prescriptive — working with your team, not over them

How We Work
Our Standards and Approach
The principles that guide how we conduct every engagement — from the first conversation through to the final deliverable.
Client Confidentiality
All information shared during an engagement is treated with strict confidentiality. We do not share client data with third parties, and we can formalise this with an agreement where needed.
Defined Scope, Written Up Front
Before work begins, we agree on the scope, timeline, and deliverables in writing. This removes ambiguity and keeps the engagement on track from the first day to the last.
Respectful of Your Team's Time
We design sessions to be efficient and purposeful, involving the right people for the right amount of time. The total involvement required from your side is proportionate to the engagement size.
Usable Outputs
Every document and template we prepare is written so that your team can use it without needing us to explain it. We test usability during the engagement, not after.
No Hidden Add-ons
The fee you agree to at the start is the fee you pay. We do not suggest additional services during an engagement unless there is a clear and separate need that you raise.
Malaysian Business Awareness
Our consultants understand the local supplier market and the commercial norms that affect procurement decisions in Malaysia. This shapes both the advice we give and how we present it.
Our Expertise
Procurement and Sourcing Advisory in Malaysia
Yaraka works with organisations across Kuala Lumpur and the wider Klang Valley that want a more considered approach to how they choose and manage suppliers. The three engagements we offer — a supplier review session, a sourcing process programme, and a broader procurement advisory programme — are each scoped to a defined output, which keeps the work useful and the investment proportionate.
Our consultants bring direct experience from operations and procurement roles in Malaysian industry, which means the advice reflects how businesses here actually operate rather than how textbooks suggest they should. We focus on the practical: the criteria your team uses to evaluate a supplier, the documents that record a decision, and the steps that make a comparison fair.
Each engagement is collaborative by design. We believe that an organisation benefits most when its own people understand the process changes being introduced. Writing a template that sits in a folder is not the same as a team that knows how to use one. That distinction shapes how we structure our work from beginning to end.
