From Clients Across Malaysia

FH

Faizal Hamdan

Operations Director, Shah Alam

"We brought Yaraka in for the Supplier Review Session because we had a feeling our sourcing had become a bit informal over the years. The snapshot they produced confirmed some of what we suspected and flagged a couple of things we had not noticed. The adjustments list was realistic — nothing dramatic, just clear steps we could actually take. We completed most of them within six weeks."

Lim Yee Fen

Procurement Manager, Petaling Jaya

"The Sourcing Process Programme gave us something we had been meaning to build for three years but never found the time for — a proper evaluation template for our key categories. The consultants worked with our team rather than just presenting us with something pre-built. That made a difference because the final templates actually matched how we think about suppliers here."

Nisha Krishnan

Finance Controller, Subang Jaya

"What I appreciated was how straightforward the whole process was. The scope was written up before anything started, the fee was fixed, and the consultants kept to the timeline. No surprises. The observations note from our review session was concise — two pages, not twenty — and it was immediately useful for a conversation with our MD."

Ahmad Zulkarnain

CEO, Kuala Lumpur

"We completed the Procurement Advisory Programme over three months and it changed how our team thinks about purchasing. The phased plan was sensible — it did not try to overhaul everything at once. The two follow-up sessions were well-timed and helped us work through some questions that arose during adoption. A year on, the practices are still in place."

Soh Wei Lin

Supply Chain Head, Klang

"We had tried building an evaluation process internally twice before and both times it stalled when the day-to-day got busy. Working with Yaraka gave us external momentum and, more importantly, a team that would ask the right questions to keep us on track. The templates we ended up with were simpler than what we had tried to build ourselves."

Roshani Murugesan

Admin & Procurement, Cyberjaya

"For a small firm, the RM 560 Supplier Review Session was accessible and produced something genuinely useful. I was half-expecting a generic report, but the observations were specific to our situation. The consultant asked sensible questions and the shortlist they produced addressed things we had been putting off. Good starting point."

Engagement Journeys in Detail

Three examples of how engagements have run in practice.

Sourcing Process Programme 3 Weeks · RM 1,500

A Trading Firm in Selangor Builds Its First Proper Evaluation Process

The Situation

A 45-person trading firm had been selecting suppliers by price alone for years. A difficult delivery dispute prompted the MD to reconsider how the firm made supplier decisions.

What We Did

Over three weeks, we ran three co-design sessions with the procurement and operations teams to build an evaluation outline covering five criteria beyond price, along with two comparison templates for their main categories.

The Outcome

The firm used the templates for three supplier decisions in the following quarter. The MD reported that the process had made it easier to explain choices to the board and had reduced disagreement between teams about supplier selection.

Procurement Advisory Programme 3 Months · RM 2,880

A Professional Services Firm in KL Organises Procurement Across Four Categories

The Situation

A professional services firm with 90 staff had procurement sitting with individual department heads. Inconsistency in how suppliers were chosen and managed had become a source of friction between finance and operations.

What We Did

Month 1 reviewed practices across IT, facilities, and professional support categories. Month 2 produced a phased plan and category-specific guidance; the first advisory session addressed questions from the finance team. Month 3 supported adoption and covered edge cases in the second advisory session.

The Outcome

At handover, the firm had a documented approach for all four categories, a simple approval process, and a record format for supplier decisions. The finance and operations teams reported fewer disagreements about how purchasing decisions were being made.

Supplier Review Session 1 Day · RM 560

A Small Retailer in Kuala Lumpur Takes Stock Before a Planned Expansion

The Situation

A retail business with two outlets was planning a third. Before expanding, the owner wanted to understand whether the existing supplier arrangements would scale and where the weak points were.

What We Did

We conducted a focused one-day review with the owner and store manager. The supplier snapshot covered eight active suppliers across three categories, noting performance history, documentation gaps, and redundancies in the supplier base.

The Outcome

The adjustments shortlist identified two suppliers where contracts needed updating before the expansion, one category where the business was over-reliant on a single source, and three practical steps to take before the third outlet opened. The owner described it as a useful prompt to deal with things that had been accumulating.
